We did not get the environment from our parents. We borrowed it from our children!
We understand how much each of us can contribute to the natural environment. The responsability of producers should be much higher as they are one of the most dangerous sources of environment damage. Our aim is to minimize the unfavourable influence we have on the environment. We require similar attitude from our suppliers. This is why we cooperate only with companies that are ecologically aware.

Furniture is made of wood which is a natural resource. The special and renewable wood cultivations do not harm the environment. Therefore we buy the MDF tops only from suppliers who get the wood exclusively from controlled cultivations, which is proved by appropiate certificates (FSC Forest Stewardship Council). Such a forestry is environment friendly. We do not purchase raw materials which may come from rain forrests, because we consider that many companies in thas area run a robber economy.

MARO does more… We cooperate with the Wielkopolski National Park. Some years ago we organized the GREEN MARO day when our customers planted trees that were coming from the Wielkopolski National Park cultivations. We honored the WNP with an occasional medal.

Transport - our logistics department cares for the ideal planning of transport. We control the fuel and tires exploitation since we are aware of the impact of the transport on the environment. Out actions are aimed at limitation of CO2 emission, noise and tire wear. We buy only in big amounts and in this way we limit the transport needs.

Efficient energy use. We care that our devices and machines as well as office equipment use as little energy as possible. We switch off all electrical devices after use and, above all, we optimize the production cycle to spare money and the environment. |

Wastes. We optimize the elements' cutting out in order to produce as little waste as possible. Metal wastes are sold to steel centers. Plastic wastes are pressed and given to recycle centers. High quality furniture also determines waste elimination. The relation is simple: less complaints - less wastes. Thus, our quality is favorable for our customers, environment and us. |

In our factory we recycle in the production department as well as in the administration. This is how we try to spread the idea of ecology among our employees. We use a central, efficient and economic printer. Due to the electronic document workflow and inner correspondence we have reduced the paper exploitation. For test printouts or inner correspondence we use single printed sheets. Unnecessary documents are put in a shredder and, after being pressed, are given to paper recycle centers.

Certificates - for the years 2009-2010 MARO plans to introduce the ISO 14001 standard. A detailed schedule of the cerificate introduction is in realisation. Our customers have similar certificates or are in course of its implementation.

Human being is in our interest. For us and for our children we care about the environment. We are also concerned for our employees and workplace safety. Our workers are well trained and obey the safety rules. This prevents from accidents at workplace and possible occupational diseases. Due to machines modernization dangerous accidents have been eliminated. Dust removal system prevents from air contamination and makes the workplace more friendly.

Children's work prevention - MARO cooperates with international concerns worldwide. We carefully observe our suppliers and expect a strict ban on children's work. Numerous charity actions that we take part in cause that smiles come out on many children's faces. |
